Add Initial Subtitles and Translations
Subtitles make your content watchable without sound and open it up to audiences in other languages. For an asset that has none yet, MediaBench can transcribe the audio for you automatically, or you can upload a subtitle file you already have.

To add translations to an asset that already has MediaBench subtitles, see Add More Translations instead.
Generate subtitles
- Open the asset you want to subtitle
- Select the Subtitles tab in the document window
- Select Generate subtitles (or Upload subtitles to import a file)
- If the video has more than one audio track, choose which one to transcribe under Which audio track should we use?
- Select the spoken language under Which language is being spoken?
- Optionally, add one or more languages for translation
- Select Create subtitles
When a video has multiple audio tracks, for example alternate-language dubs, generate a separate subtitle set from each track. See Attach and Manage Audio Tracks.
Already have a subtitle file, such as a vendor delivery? You can attach it to the video instead of generating one. See Attach Subtitles to a Video.
