View and Edit Asset Info
Every asset carries metadata: the technical specs MediaBench reads from the file, plus custom fields you fill in like author, keywords, and rights dates. Good metadata makes assets easier to find, organize, and hand off.

Open and edit asset information
- Open the asset you want to review
- Find Asset Information in the metadata window
- Scroll down and select Edit
- Update fields directly in the inline editor
- Select Save or Cancel
What's in Asset Information
Asset Information has two parts: automatic specs that are read-only, and custom fields you can edit.
Automatic information (read-only)
Extracted when the asset is ingested, and varies by media type. It can include:
- General: Name, Uploaded by, Upload date, Asset ID, Media type, Size, Duration
- Video and image: RES (resolution), Aspect ratio, Codec, Frames, Frames per second, Bit rate, Color space, Scan type, Chroma subsampling, Bit depth
- Audio information (on video and audio assets): Channels, Codec, Sampling rate, Bit rate
Custom information (editable)

Select Edit to add or change:
- Author info
- Keywords
- Production date
- Rights start date
- Rights end date
Notes
Notes are a separate section with their own controls. Select Edit in the Notes section to add free-form notes about the asset, then select Save or Cancel.
